Or like when FFXIV Shadowbringers' 71-80 new abilities didn't function in PSO2 Meseta content from previous expansions (that is how it operates now in cases unless you unsync). Although NGS seems to be including a side of"What if ShB had a bunch of new skills that replaced your 1-70 abilities that just worked in ShB content".

I'm happy they put this information dump out. I had expected most of this but was not quite sure about a few things (their wording made me wonder about outfits/clients/etc). You are going to be back at Lv1 at NG, and not all courses will probably be there at launch. I meant it in a"we won't have access to our old abilities before we return to the OG PSO2 boats" sorta way. But my explanation was awful (and I am not sure whether my new one below's any greater ).

It seems like rather the midpoint between"hard reset with decorative transfer" (like going from Secret Planet to SWL, that was a jump fire of a process) and"regular expansion" (like BfA into Shadowlands, TBC to WotLK, Stormblood into Shadowbringers, etc). It is not quite like FFXIV Realm Reborn (like some folks speculated when we heard about it). Since the"old" areas continue to be a part of mostly the exact same game, and you may return and play with them with all the pre-existing abilities/classes/etc. I'm assuming people who want OG PSO2 makeup would still need to earn/buy them in OG PSO2. If that's true, we wind up at something like current WoW (if you squint a little ).

"Old" content's still relevant for fashion purposes and you are able to go level something inside, but the newest content created for the growth areas goes off the growth leveling (meaning in this case, all-new/changed/different classes). Along with the abilities will be altered enough that a level-cap PSO2 character along with a level-cap NGS personality are going to feel and act mostly differently, even when they share a number of the same ability names/similar ability cartoons. (Compare like a Wow Classic Paladin to can you buy meseta on pso2 a Present BfA Paladin or something).
