Following the demise of the previous director in 2021 after numerous lawsuits and investigations claiming allegations of a "frat boy" culture of work within Activision Blizzard, Diablo IV is scheduled to launch in 2023. The game will allow crossover and progression between PC and consoles. Blizzard recently released new information regarding Diablo IV's five and final launch game, the Necromancer.

We spoke to Diablo 4 Director Joe Shely and general manager of the Diablo franchise Rod Fergusson about the current situation of Diablo as well as what their hopes have been for Diablo 4. as well as the way in which the game was developed to fulfill them.

It's a huge time for Diablo. The launch of Immortal and now you've shown off the first part about Diablo 4. Rod as the overseer of the Diablo franchise, can you provide us a temperature check on the franchise? Where is it and where do you believe it should be to be?

Rod Fergusson: I think there's never been a better time to be an Diablo fan or Diablo player. We have Diablo available to play out for 10 years now however, even in its most recent season, Season 26. There are cheap D2R Ladder Items over 150 million hours of play.
