Zelda Fan Rumors were "Frustrating" for Donkey Kong Game Developers When Eric Kozlowsky was hired by Retro Studios, it resulted in speculation about the Retro Studios team working on a new Zelda game.

The artist had previously worked on the PlayStation's Uncharted series however, and due to reasons unknown, it led fans to make connections. However, Kozlowsky and Retro Studios were actually working on Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze as well, and when the game was officially unveiled, many Zelda gamers slammed the game because they were hoping for something else. In a new interview for The Kiwi Talkz podcast, Kozlowsky explained how the rumor led to anger for the team working on the game.

"Sometimes it's frustrating because it creates [false expectations]. That's what I saw when we announced Tropical Freeze. It was thinking 'they're working on the next Zelda game They're working on one Zelda game,' but like nope. We've announced Tropical Freeze and it looks incredible and stunning but then people go "oh, this is another Donkey Kong.'

Then you realize that there are people slamming it on Neogaf or whatever and you're like 'oh man and everyone was thinking we were playing something similar to a Zelda game. And then you realize this isn't what is happening.' So , it's both in that we sometimes laugh at the absurdity, and at other times it can get uncomfortable when it carries on for a little longer Diablo 2 Resurrected buy items," said Kozlowsky.
