The middle age of England (around 1150) was the setting for a novel I was reading this summer. It took the characters days to
OSRS gold travel from one place to the next. The majority of the period was spent in lawless forests where there was constant danger from outlaws and bandits.
Although it is fictional however, the book I've read is true to a large extent about the terrain between major towns. This feeling is only present in Runescape's Wilderness as well as Kharidian desert. These are both large and dangerous, especially for unexperienced travelers. Additionally, they have limited content.
The first step is that the lodestone network needs to be eliminated. Even for those who just require a walk once, it kills the sense of adventure. Additionally the size of the clan camp needs to be cut by at minimum one quarter. It removed a significant (in size) forest and caused the Falador-Rimmington-Port Sarim area to become unrealistically joined together.
In the end, I believe there are additional risks to the "wilderness" between towns. These could be natural disasters or even outlaws who are trying to harm you. Jagex tried to make this happen by adding level 5 highwaymen to
buy RuneScape Mobile gold the game, however they aren't important to any player over 10 levels, and they're not a danger to anyone who is smart enough to run.
