The archetype model has not been able fulfill its primary goal. It's still not balanced and I'd argue that the prevalence of

The critical issue is that 2K was unable to handle the weaknesses and strengths of each model effectively. A center that is more than 7 feet tall and weighs more than 270 pounds shouldn't be able outpace a guard down the court in the transition.
Over the past two years players from the point have struggled in active builds. There is no apparent advantage in playing a point guard, the faster speed isn't significant when the value of the Point Forward build are considered. Point forwards generally have an upper ceiling than a point guard.
I'd like to be able to see 2K Sports address archetypes by
