Gilead Compass Initiative®: Offering Strategic and Financial Resources to Fight HIV
When you are a part of a non-profit or charitable organization, the biggest challenge is to acquire funding and grants to mitigate important expenses for the mission. This becomes extremely challenging when you are working to combat a disease that has always resulted in the discrimination of the affected. If your non-profit organization works towards reducing
stigma HIV has posed on several families, then you would surely understand the struggle to find funding specifically targeted towards this goal. Therefore, we have done some intensive research to find the best funding opportunity that provides resources to combat the fight against HIV stigma. Our research was topped by an excellent initiative started by Gilead Sciences, Inc. that is determined to mitigate resources to non-profit and charity organizations.
Known as Gilead Compass Initiative®, it is a 10-year, $100 million commitment by Gilead Sciences, Inc that will actively work with local non-profit organizations and the Southern HIV Impact Fund to combat the stigma associated with HIV/AIDS. The initiative will provide opportunities and training to these organizations through its three COMPASS Coordinating Centers located in the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work, the Southern AIDS Coalition, and Emory University Rollins School of Public Health. Each coordinating center focuses on one of the three primary goals of the initiative:
• Mental health, well-being, and trauma-informed care.
• Stigma reduction and culturally appropriate care.
• Shared knowledge and capacity building.
Gilead HIV initiative wants to build long-lasting relationships with organizations and individuals who are working diligently to reduce the stigma associated with the disease. If you want to get training for any of the goals, you must submit an online application detailing the training topics and resources that can prove advantageous to your organization. Gilead Compass Initiative® will surely help your organization bring in the required knowledge and resources.
As mentioned above, Gilead Compass Initiative® also offers grants to combat the stigma suffered by several
African Americans HIV struck families. There are four different grants that you can apply for namely, transformative grants, ACTION grants, SPARK! Grants, and core grants. This will provide your organization with a strong base to carry out essential stigma reduction strategies. If you want to know more about the Gilead Compass Initiative®, get in touch with them by sending a direct message to them through their website. Alternatively, you can also follow them on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter.
