  Really New Horizons Items made me understand the purchase price of anonymity that big streamers/youtubers and actors cover. Well worth the price IMO but it's definitely a factor.
  
  There was little to no regard for Sakurai from the west back in the day. I remember there was a popular webseries of SSB bits made of spritework and there was an entire joke of Ridley, Geno, Mega guy, along with some different characters becoming mad they weren't from the match and Geno only fireblasting all Japan for this. It had been just like, in retrospect, amazingly fucked up
  
  You are correct that there was lots of hate and disrespect towards Sakurai, but Smash Kingdom was in great fun and normally featured a lot of dark humor. You have to dig deep into the archives of Smashboards, GameFAQs and NeoGAF (if that's even possible with the latter) to find the true vitriol.
  
  Yeah there are a few straight up death dangers in there. Same would be said now here, but it would get downvoted to oblivion.
  
  That being said I do wish Skull Kid was in the exact same amount of demand today as he had been then. Zelda still has gotten no more meaningful representation, and Skull Kid stays the ideal pick to provide the franchise it's much deserved new fighter--and he's been largely forgotten in talks about new characters. Skull Kid will forever be my number one pick.
  
  Yeah, Skull Kid is the sole Nintendo choice that I REALLY need abandoned. I'd honestly be really happy with buy new horizons bells Midna or Tetra too. Only SOMEONE to signify Zelda that isn't a Triforce Trio incarnation.
