  Fortunately, there was someone who was convinced of Taylor's talent. I met the person who developed Tannehill and recognized his underlying talent. Sean McVay had found his new wide receivers coach in Los Angeles. The trick to the hiring was to identify future holes in his staff. McVay knew that quarterbacks coach Greg Olson was making a brief stop on the Rams and was certain to be hired away, along with offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur and offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur, who were generating attention as a head coach. Taylor could be the ideal candidate to take over and carry on the development of Jared's Goff.
  
  In just McVay's third season as head coach and Taylor's first year as QB coach Goff excelled and the Rams were able to make an appearance in the Super Bowl. The young team wasn't ready to face the Patriots but the potential of their young offensive minded strategy was paying huge dividends.
  
  The Bengals also recognized Taylor's talents. As it was an elation when McVay was appointed from Los Angeles, it was an eye-opener to see Cincinnati choose the QB coach as their head coach. The team didn't want remain in the dark, and knowing they required a quarterback with the potential Taylor was able to develop, shocked people around the Madden NFL 23 community.
