Overview
- Patch 2.0.1 added significant quality-of-life improvements for all players, regardless whether or not they were planning to purchase Diablo: Reaper of Souls. Paragon leveling was combined between characters D2R Items. The difficulty of the game was greatly improved since monsters now grow in proportion to your level. It was set with the new Normal, Hard, Expert, and Master as well as a variety of levels of Torment.
Torment would yield greater rewards, and was intended to encourage players in the endgame to continue honing their skills and gaining more valuable loot. The patch also redesigned it's crafting mechanic and made it simpler, and also introduced a short-term reward for experience, dubbed Pools of Reflection.
The most significant change that were promised was Loot 2.0. Whereas the loot grind in the first release had flooded players with a lot of junk loot, players who patched later found themselves with significantly less loot. What they did find was much better quality.
The loot would come with more bonus properties and bonuses, and the properties would be tailored to the player's individual build. Legendary items would provide skills modifiers, or other property that could alter gameplay more frequently.
With a more solid foundation, Reaper of Souls was prepared to bring back players who had been lapsed as well as entice new players who were unable to enjoy the initial experience, and grow the player base by inviting in console players as the first-time.
