  • Description : R.S.: One of our overriding philosophies of Blizzard is to concentrate the fun. Once you spread the various elements of content to a large extent, it actually becomes a little overwhelming to players. We saw in the pre-launch we had the invasions that occurred in several parts of Azeroth Then we decided, to focus on the fantasy aspects, partly for the story, that the Legion was going to focus on the Broken Shore and its immediate vicinity, also known as the Broken Isles. It was partly because found that the game makes it perfect for this.

Overview

  • In that light, we've tried to make it so WOTLK Gold every time you log in, and every day you log in and decide to go to Broken Shore or go to Broken Isles, you don't have a clear idea of what to do. Once you're in, look over the situation and determine how you'll take this fight on to the Legion today.

It's a bit like Legion that this is limited on the island as opposed to something like Cataclysm where you had these far-reaching effects that affected all of Azeroth. Is that more of an intentional decision? Do you believe that the effects on the Legion will be felt more broadly in Azeroth at any time?

MD The main ideas behind the patch is go back into The Broken Shore and reclaim the Broken Shore. This is the place where the Legion expansion really began. The method used to launch the Legion was that you went on a trip to the Broken Shore, you fought Gul'dan and all these big bad guys, and suffered an important loss. We lost Tirion and we lost Vol'Jin and lost Varian The losses were huge and we had to retreat. This patch is related to the continuation that story and propelling it forward.

What is fascinating is that, also in this patch is some Class Orders. The Class Orders form an integral part of "Why we are going to succeed where we've failed before." To your point, a many times when we use those Class Orders, we do revisit other locations. For instance, in the Monk class, as of this patch you'll need be able to go back to Stormstout Brewery. These are great chances for players to spread their wings in a way that reminds them of how large and vibrant this world is and you are able to see the progress from "Oh this is the Legion!" Legion has actually been spreading their tendrils a little."

The RS: Yes, it's a little better to focus when players are going far to these other parts of Azeroth rather than having an all-time spread. It's actually in the interest of the player experience more than anything else.

Have you though about giving players of other Classes the possibility to at a minimum, visit these Order Halls to experience the various Classes? Not necessarily to be a part of them, but at a minimum, experience the stuff in-game, for Halls that are not part of their primary Class (particularly for less experienced players like me).In that light, we've tried to make it so every time you log in, and every day you log in and decide to go to Broken Shore or go to Broken Isles, you don't have a clear idea of what to do.
