Overview
- The ability to D2R Items prevent players from changing difficulty when Echoing Nightmare is active.Fixed a bug that Boon of Hoarder could allow gold to drop during Echoing Nightmares.Fixed a bug in which Orek's Dream vignette can be removed when entering Shrouded Moors and Festering Woods when you are not at level 1.
A bug was fixed that caused the Orek's Dream opening VFX to display inconsistently.Shely added that the possibility to pull power from legendary items (previously disclosed in a Diablo IV quarterly update) and put them in other items "really opens up the ability to personalize your gear." Fergusson was in agreement with that.
"That has transformed the game," Fergusson said. "This is so. It's not discussed enough. In the past, you could pick up an armored shield that had something that said, like, 'Can summon two additional skeleton mages.'
And you're thinking, "Oh I must keep this...My build requires two extra wizards.' Then eventually, your level will exceed it and I'm not looking to surrender the shield. I'm going to carry this shield even if it's weak because I'm looking for this power."
It's not so in Diablo IV, where players will be able move legendary powers through an NPC called the Occultist after an item with better stats has been discovered. The players will be able to transform uncommon items into legendary ones as well.
"And so that idea of being able to hold on to your character and being able to truly customize your character's appearance by taking legendary powers, taking them from one thing and imbuing them into another completely alters the structure of your build," Fergusson said.
The ability to extract legendary power and incorporate them into new items is present in the recently launched Diablo Immortal, giving fans an idea of how the system may play out when it comes to Diablo IV. Blizzard included a feature in Diablo in 2015 where players could get and apply upto three legendary powers with cheap D2R Ladder Items the Kanai's Cube, but the powers are not transferable to other items.
