Description :
Three weeks into the NFL season, we're beginning to see a more clarity about various teams. Sure, we have no idea about some teams such as the Saints and Pats are still absolute enigmas as are some teams like Jacksonville and both New York teams -- are just obviously terrible.
For other teams that fancied themselves contenders or fringe playoff hopefuls, reality is getting to them fast. There's no time to relax and smell the roses while you're in panic. However, anyone struggling with 1-2 or more needs to pick up a brown bag, and begin to breathe heavy.
However, there are teams that shouldn't be worried. Let's take a look at some of them and evaluate these on a scale of 1-10 terror.
Do we need to be concerned that the Chiefs are in last place in the AFC West?
First off, hopefully all is well for Chiefs coach Andy Reid, who was admitted to a hospital following the game in an ambulance when the team was not feeling well. Although he's now been released from the hospital after the game, Peter King's explanation of the incident on NBC Sports suggests it sounds a bit more complicated than what we thought based upon the Chiefs their statements afterward. Reid's health is a priority over all else obviously. But given he could potentially go down for a time and given the Chiefs are last for the AFC West and given the Chiefs are below .500 for the first time since Week 10 of 2015 it's worth asking what the extent of this could be in the future.
On defense, Kansas City just isn't quite right at the moment. The Chiefs "only" let up 352 total yards to the Chargers in Sunday's game, but L.A. dropped 30 points on them . The Chiefs could not slow down or stop Justin Herbert and Co. on the final drive.
K.C. 's schedule is concerning as well. In the next six weeks, there will be plenty of interest from the Titans, Packers and Bills each of whom are currently playing some fantastic offense. Fortunately for the Chiefs they'll also be able to draw three quarters of the NFC East over that same period, and do not have to take on the Cowboys. Even if the defense doesn't find a way to solve the problem, Patrick Mahomes and this offense can guarantee the Chiefs a 3-3 win over that stretch. It's more likely that they get 5-1, and we're not going to be astonished in some time. This team isn't perfect however the rest of the division plays good football.
