Overview

  • If that change in philosophy was not clear prior to now it's clear now. Since Diablo: Resurrected patch 2.4. due to be released in the early part of D2R Ladder Items next year after a period test on Diablo's newly opened public test realm, the game will not be the same RPG fans used to play as kids. The patch 2.4 is the very first balance patch for Diablo that has been released since the patch 1.13c that was released in the month of March. It will introduce changes to class skills, updates for recruitable mercenaries in the game and new Runewords, and more this is the first time it's been done in over a decade.

However, why are these changes taking place now, rather than to when the game launches? In a recent interview with Diablo: Resurrected producer Matt Cederquist and chief designer Rob Gallerani, the plan was always to get the game that fans knew and loved out the door first , before turning into the future.

"The reason we didn't go out with these changes (balance adjustmentson the same day was that we needed to make sure that we offered players an authentic feeling," Gallerani said. "If we released something that was not the ones they remembered, we would have failed on this point.

What was awesome was when the landing was announced, we felt pretty confident we had a good landing. After that, we got feedback like"Well, how do you tune this, or tweak this, or even a new meta or create items similar to this.' Therefore, we were very pleased to to bring that forward."

The aim of patch 2.4. Gallerani explained, is to make more class builds viable, not to make the game perfectly balanced. "The way we approached this is that we're not in a way to nerf anything, are we?" he added. "We are aware that everyone loves Hammerdin Buy D2R Ladder Items. We're not removing that from the people who love it. If you loved your builds, you are still going to love the building."
