Description :
I believe this just reinforces not only the debate for getting an Automod notify prospective new posters of this'gentleman's agreement', or even officially separating them. You've got a virtual'desire route' going on here where your community has made a decision to segregate the material, don't you feel you need to listen to them? These are all growing aches and nothing which can't be sorted out with the years, its one thing to state that no one gets the drive or capacity to keep a filter right now but please don't make it outside to be an impossible feat. In addition, I feel like I'm in a soviet court house and the bailiff was just told to shoot the man who jaywalked, bro you don't need to delete OSRS or phishing posts in this case simply have automod remark on it with information pointing people in the right direction.
Unless we're referring to a filter restricting what could be stated on the subreddit I'm really confused on why anybody would want to bypass a filter which provides them with advice. If supposedlyy'all attempted to knock down some essential phrases or complaints being chucked around this sub from time to time then yeah it's a'problem' (You guys would not be the first game sub to possess it, blink twice if Jagex hasy'all hostage) for you guys but I do not see a lot of people hoping to submit"link - entirely no ph15h guiys" or"I think this is a p h 1 5 h ing attempt guys" or"look at this cool drop I received on ess are ess" just so they don't possess a comment in their article out of a bot.
No worries about the grilling concern. I am just trying to be thorough in my replies. The email submission filter has been viewed as a low priority fix, and such articles were (and still are) getting caught in different filters, so it was deemed unneeded for the time being. However, the other filters are not specifically designed for those articles, so just part are getting flagged. Once more of the important tasks are completed, we will take a look at a number of the lower priority ones. It would not require much time to receive a setup set up to start testing an improved version. Additionally, a majority of subreddit moderation is not visible publicly, so while it may appear that we are not doing anything occasionally, there is a lot that goes on behind the scenes in addition to approving/removing posts and comments.
Our concern about filtering in this case isn't whether a person will try to bypass it, and that comment was just to further the stage that filters are not always effective. Maybe mentioning the intentional bypassing was a little off subject for my prior comment. So far as the separation between our subreddits goes, it isn't something we're interested in enforcing as of now. As previously mentioned, the amount of OSRS-specific posts (not pertinent to RS3) submitted here is minimal as is, plus they do not amount to a prominent part of our daily posts. However, those posts are outnumbered by other people that compare or link to both games.
These will probably match the standards additionally to obtain a reply redirecting them to 2007 Runescape once the intention was to post, which isn't ideal because it could be irrelevant to the article topic and likely lead to complaints. Furthermore, when the criteria is too specific, it is improbable that the few articles which are intended to obtain this response will activate it. It is easier for a individual to identify these posts compared to a bot, and setting up this to work as intended is much simpler said than done for advantage.
